Mumbai,: Late. On the occasion of Balasaheb Thackeray's birth anniversary, on 23 January 2025, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's concept of "Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Clean, Beautiful Bus Station Campaign" will be implemented at all bus stops across the state for the next year. Prizes worth Rs 3 crore will be given under this campaign and a prize of Rs 1 crore is being announced for the bus stop that comes first in 'A' category in the state, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has announced. This campaign will be launched on 23 January by Minister Shri. Sarnaik at Kurla Nehru Nagar Bus Station at 11 am. On this occasion, a thorough cleanliness campaign will be implemented at every bus stop across the state with the cooperation of school students, social organizations and ST employees.
While launching this campaign last year, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while elaborating on the concept of this campaign, said that providing clean and beautiful bus stops as well as sterile, taptip toilets to the general passengers permanently is the goal of S. T. It was clarified that this campaign is being launched with this awareness.
Also, the main "core" of this campaign is to develop bus stops through public participation based on
the concept of "Our Village, Our Bus Stop". This was also emphasized. Of course, any bus stop is the central place of that village. In this sense, since the bus stop is the "pride" of that village, the youth groups, women's self-help groups, various social organizations, and industry groups in the village should come forward and help in beautifying and beautifying that bus stop, Minister Shri. Sarnaik has appealed.
In this year-long campaign, each bus stop will be evaluated every 3 months. For this, evaluation committees have been appointed under the leadership of senior officers of the S.T. Corporation and the numbers of the bus stops will be determined by averaging the marks given by them. All the bus stations of ST across the state have been divided into three groups based on the number of passengers boarding and alighting there, namely urban 'A' class, semi-urban 'B' class and rural 'C' class. First, a competition will be held at the regional level for the first, second and third position in each group and the final competition will be held at the state level. For this, the bus station that comes first in each group will be considered. At the state level, the bus station that comes first in the 'A' class group will be given prizes of Rs. 1 crore, the bus station that comes first in the 'B' class group will be given prizes of Rs. 50 lakh and the bus station that comes first in the 'C' class group will be given prizes of Rs. 25 lakh.
