Government will raise its voice in court on behalf of Water Resources Minister Vikhe Patil for 16.66 TMC water in Krishna Valley - MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil
The government will raise its voice in court on behalf of Water Resources Minister Vikhe Patil for 16.66 TMC water in Krishna Valley, according to the information published by Dr. Padmasinh Patil's son MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil in an email sent to the press for a press conference
Out of the 23.66 TMC water of Marathwada's rightful right in Krishna Valley, the work of 7 TMC is currently in the final stage. Efforts have been started to get the remaining 16.66 TMC water. A meeting will be organized with Water Resources Minister Radhakrishnaji Vikhe Patil in the next fortnight regarding the technical and legal aspects of this important issue of Marathwada. "Mitra" Vice President and MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil informed that efforts will be made on a war footing to get the remaining 16.66 TMC of water soon through the Water Resources Department and Mitra Sanstha.
In a press conference organized on Monday at the Niyaz Bhavan of the Dharashiv District Collectorate, MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil gave detailed information about the remaining water of Marathwada along with statistics. He also gave a detailed presentation on the steps being taken to ensure that this water is available to the talukas of Dharashiv district at the earliest. A meeting was recently held at the Krishna Basin Corporation office in Pune regarding the Krishna Flood Control Project. Devendra Fadnavis, when he was the Chief Minister of the state in 2014, accelerated the Krishna Marathwada Irrigation Project. He obtained the necessary environmental approvals from the Central Government. Along with this, a large amount of funds were also made available. In 2022, this 23.66 TMC water project, which is important for Marathwada, was given revised administrative approval of Rs 11,726 crore by Fadnavis Saheb. That is why the work of 7 TMC water is currently in the completion stage. However, the remaining 16.66 TMC water has not been received yet. MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil said that the Chief Minister is positive for this too and has shown his favor to make positive efforts on a war footing for the remaining 16.66 TMC water through his friend.
According to the statistics of the Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal One, 599 TMC of water entitled to the state of Maharashtra is available in the Krishna basin today. Out of this, only 520 TMC of water is being used by the state of Maharashtra even after a good monsoon. Necessary work has been undertaken for 40 TMC water. Therefore, MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil has said that efforts are underway to get 16.66 TMC of water, which is the rightful right of Marathwada, from the remaining 39 TMC water. Former Minister Dr. Padmasinh Patil Saheb had secured the approval of the Cabinet in 2001 by putting his political dominance at stake. In 2009, he increased it and approved 23.66 TMC of water. Out of this, the dream of 7 TMC of water is actually being realized. However, the issue of the remaining 16.66 TMC of water due to Marathwada is still pending, for which we will try with full force. Two districts of Marathwada, Dharashiv and Beed, are in the Krishna basin. Therefore, both these districts have a right to this water. The Mahayuti government has also given revised administrative approval to this 23.66 TMC water project at a cost of Rs 11,726 crore. Therefore, now we are committed to the remaining water and will try our best for it, said MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil.
High-level meeting with the Water Resources Minister in connection with technical and legal matters
According to Krishna dispute arbitration No. 1, there is no legal problem in the distribution of inter-basin water. Therefore, a high-level meeting will be organized soon under the chairmanship of Water Resources Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil to complete this matter at a fast pace and discuss the technical and legal aspects. After the completion of the technical and legal aspects of this matter, Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis will be informed about this. After Devendraji became the Chief Minister, he provided funds for the Krishna Marathwada Project and prepared a time-bound action plan to complete the project, which is why the 7 TMC issue is being completed. We will get their cooperation in this regard as well. We are taking this issue forward for the benefit of the farmers in the district. MLA Ranajagjitsinh Patil has appealed to everyone to be positive and cooperate in this regard.
